The Gravedigger's Luck – The Gravedigger was a dutiful husband, a present father and a dedicated teacher. However, after a merciless blow, he begins to challenge the fate of the living. Bewildered, he rejects the thread of existence that remains and turns completely to a sinister quest. Along the way, he encounters a mysterious entity known as “The Psychopomp” who becomes his mentor. It is the disappearance of a body in the cemetery, however, that finally triggers a series of events that will lead the Gravedigger to the final confrontation with himself and his luck.

“The Luck of the Gravedigger” is a harrowing novel adorned with fantastic and macabre elements. The cemetery is the main stage for the unfolding of the story permeated by elements of magic and spiritual traditions of the New World. In these pages, a narrative unfolds that walks between the visible and invisible worlds and will make the reader confront their own journey towards the grave.

BOOKS IN PORTUGUESE

Haitian Vodou is a beautiful, rich and complex spirituality full of opportunities for important and transformative experiences. It is true that the term “vodou” has been tirelessly associated with evil magic and all types of perversity, but the reality is very far from this sinister scenario. Vodou deals mainly with the interaction between the visible and the invisible and encompasses all expressions of manifestation, whatever they may be. In Vodou, we find beauty, balance, healing and also an opportunity to deal with the aspects we need to work on in ourselves. In this book, the Vodou priest (oungan) Eduardo Regis presents this universe and opens the way for those who want to begin contact with the Lwas, the spirits of Vodou. Eduardo presents initial practices that can be carried out at home and by anyone, always accompanied by a precise explanation about the fundamentals of Vodou. Furthermore, the book is beautifully illustrated by oungan Diógenes Costa, an experienced and talented priest, who gives us his personal and tangible vision of what it is like to see the invisible.

“Essays on Haitian Vodou” is a collection that brings together texts written by Eduardo Regis on the “Espelho de Circe” and OTOA/LCN websites over the last few years. These texts, some experimental, others whose nature could only be defined as “thinking in writing” and also publications of relevant academic articles, were all designed for the online public, therefore, they are short and direct.

To be read in parts, together with other texts or as a great “journey” through Vodou, this book is certainly a very pleasant way to become more familiar with the subject.

In Haitian Vodou: service to the Lwas you will find chapters exploring the history of Haiti and the formation of Vodou, so that the roots of this spirituality become clear. The book is also concerned with clarifying the foundations of Vodou, its most common tools and practices and talks a lot about the importance of ancestors and the Lwas, the spirits of Vodou. There is a detailed explanation of the most popular Lwas and mentions of several others. Finally, in this book the reader will learn how to make contact with the Lwas and make requests to them.

Along with the book we will have a set of 26 laminated cards in 10x17cm format with the Vevês of the main Lwas and their respective images to be used as an Oracle or on the altar during devotions.
